GALAXY GeForce GTX 780 Ti HOF V20 first look

GALAXY has unveiled their GeForce GTX 780 Ti Hall of Fame Edition which features a very unique white PCB and having an impressive power design that will take overclocking to unheard of levels. This card is so powerful, that it set a 3DMark world record in FireStrike Extreme with some insane clock speeds using LN2 cooling.

The Galaxy GeForce GTX 780 Ti HOF V20 makes use of the GK110-425-B1 chip that’s fully unlocked providing you 2880 CUDA cores and 3GB of GDDR5 memory running across a 384-bit interface. We know this card will be overclocked, but the exact clocks are unknown at the moment. To achieve the 3DMark FireStrike Extreme world record overclocker MadTse pushed the card to 1886 MHz core and 2000 MHz memory (8GHz effective).

The memory and power delivery components will have their own heatsinks, and THAT rocks!!  Power to the card will come in the way of dual 8pins pci-e and a single 6pin pci-e connector which means the card will have a TDP of around 300W. If it perfroms as good as it looks, it will be a winner!

Galaxy has not revealed details about the cooler for this card, but are we expecting it to similar to their last HOF card which featured a dual fan cooler and impressive heatsink design. If users want extra power,  Galaxy will be shipping an additional power supply module by having an 8 phase PWM with its own pair of voltage adjustments and tuning points. No word yet on pricing or when this card will soon be available.


Razer Launches ‘World First Mechanical Switch Designed For Gaming’ Keyboards

You won’t find a bigger fanbase of mechanical keyboards than Razer followers, which is why its very exciting to see razer push the envelope when it comes to their products. Razer’s latest product is aimed straight at gamers. It’s a mechanical keyboard technology that is specifically made for gamers first, and typing second, while most of the keyboards on the market cater typists first.

As you’d expect, Razer invested a bit of time in researching the wants of gamers, identifying the “optimal actuation distance for a gaming switch to a fraction of a millimeter and reduced the exact distance between the actuation and reset point by almost half to allow for faster, more precise gaming commands when comparing to standard mechanical switches. ” Razer also claims that the lifespan of the board approaches 60 million (yes, with a capital M) key strokes.

The brand new technology is currently available on the brand new Razer BlackWidow family of gaming keyboards, and amazingly, Razer’s making it available to “other gaming peripheral makers who wish to manufacture” high-grade mechanical keyboards of these own. The all new Razer Mechanical Switch comes in two types: The Razer Green switch that is tactile and clicky, requiring a force of 50 g to actuate; and the Razer Orange switch that is tactile yet silent, requiring a force of 45 g to actuate.



Was the Mt. Gox loss of over $400 Million an inside job? Some hackers are out to prove there was no loss at all, and that Mt. Gox intentionally stole the money!

Following MtGox Bitcoin exchange losing millions to a hack and filing for bankruptcy, anonymous attackers took over the personal blog and reddit account of MtGox CEO Mark Karpeles on Sunday. After seizing those accounts , the hackers posted a message to pastebit detailing their findings and the reasoning behind the attack.


CEO tells Ars: “I cannot comment much for the present time, ” compares to Chapter 11 in US.
“It’s time that MTGOX got the bitcoin communities [sic] wrath alternatively of Bitcoin Community getting Goxed, ” the message reads. “This release would have been sooner, but in spirit of responsible disclosure and making sure most of ducks were in a row, it took a couple of days longer than would have liked to verify the data… One of them down load you will find relevant database dumps, csv exports, specialized tools, and some highlighted summaries compiled from data. Keeping in line with f—- Gox alone, no user database dumps have been included. ”

Forbes reports the 716 megabyte file placed on Karpeles’ site included items like his home address, CV, and an Excel spreadsheet that appears to document more than a million trades. But the most interesting piece of information shared is a summary of 18 different currency balances-with 951, 116 bitcoins listed. In light of the 850, 000 bitcoins supposedly lost in the recent attack, the hackers concluded this figure demonstrates fraud. The footnote reads, “That fat f–k has been lying!! ”

Despite the hack making noise around the Internet today, this leak isn’t yet guaranteed evidence of foul play. As Forbes notes, the balances could be a case of awful bookkeeping (it’s not too far-fetched that MtGox was unaware of the hack for awhile), and Karpeles has yet to come back to that site’s request for comment.

World of warcraft: Unlocking your “parked cpus”. Which cpu works best with wow, AMD or Intel?

Im trying to help out a good friend, and at the same time, trying to help those of you trying to squeeze every once of FPS you can out of the wow dated engine. Here is a compiled list of things you can try (at your own risk):

To start with, before delving to the matter concerning the graphics card, if your pc runs on a Windows Operating system and also you have an Intel Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or any Intel quad core and dual core for instance (I am unsure if this applies the same for AMD) then you  will probably be shocked to discover that your processor just isn’t technically being employed to its fullest potential. Well, it’s at this point that you want to scroll through this list and look for CPU’s that have the word “Parked” next to them. As an example: “CPU 0 – Parked” or “CPU 5 – Parked. ” For every CPU that you begin to see the word “parked” alongside means that, that “Thread” (or core, as some people call them) are disabled and never being used. This means that your processor is not trying to its fullest potential. Because lets face it, you payed money for a quad core, and also you want it working to its fullest potential constantly.

7. ) What you want to do now is to “Un-park” these threads or “cores” so that they have been in use at all times. This provides you the best performance that your processor can throw at you.

8. ) To achieve this, simply open your Windows Start Menu and type in “Regedit” in the search bar, and click enter (For people running on Or windows 7, click the “Run” button and type it in there, followed by clicking enter).

9. ) Then, click on the “Edit” button at the kind of the Regedit window, and then click the “Find” button.

Once there, click the “Resource Monitor” and locate the “CPU” tab.

19. ) Click the “CPU” tab and again look at the list of “Green charts with scrolling lines” (that resemble heart monitors) and make sure that non-e of these have the word “Parked” next to them. Unless you see the word “Parked” then you know that you have successfully opened all your available threads or “cores” in your processor. (If you see the word parked still, then just repeat the above steps again to make sure you did perhaps not miss something).

By doing steps 1 – 19 you will have successfully opened your processor to operate at its fullest potential at all times.

As a result you should notice a positive change in the performance that you see in World of Warcraft.

Since I have discussed the matter concerning quad core and dual core processors, such as the Intel i3, i5, i7, I will also talk about helping you resolve the issue with your graphics card too.

1. ) Click on the “Program Settings” tab.

2. ) Click the drop down menu underneath “Select a program to customize. ” And click “World of Warcraft. (If “World of Warcraft” is not listed do not worry, as you can add it to the list manually). (To add “World of Warcraft” to the list just click the “Add” button, and navigate to your “World of Warcraft” folder. Upon doing so, find your “WoW. exe” icon and double click it. Do perhaps not add the “Launcher. exe”).

3. ) Once you have added “World of Warcraft” to the list, make sure that it’s selected on the list.

4. ) Once you have done this you will see a list of settings that you can customize directly for WoW.

5. ) There will be 5 settings that you will need certainly to concern yourself with. They will be down the page.

10. ) The fifth and last setting is, “Vertical Sync. ” Yours might be set to “Use global setting (Use the 3D application setting). ” Even when you can technically keep this setting as is, I recommend changing it to, “Use the 3D application setting. ” To ensure that my graphics card knows that when I play WoW, I would like it to run at its peak ability. After you have set this, click “Apply” in the bottom right hand corner of the window.

Once you have done the five steps listed above, restart your pc. Once your computer is back up and running, open World of Warcraft. Once you are in the game, click “Esc” and go to “Options. ”

Make sure that “Vertical Sync” is enabled, in the game. After you have done this, click “Advanced” and make certain that “Triple buffering” is enabled as well.

And there you contain it! Following these steps should “Fix” your FPS dilemmas with “high end” Graphics cards or any Nvidia Graphics card for instance

As a side note, some people run World of Warcraft on “Direct X 9, ” even though their Graphics Card is capable of using “Direct X 11. ” The reason for this is, as a result of what I like to call “Micro lag” which occurs while getting around the game, roughly every 3 seconds your character appears to move backwards / pauses in place for a millisecond (And you’d think this wouldn’t be an issue, but once you notice it can there be… It will drive you mad. And Direct X 9 eliminates the problem). But that is a whole different topic of discussion.

I strongly urge you to download a free program called cpu core parking manager . They JUST released a beta on 2/20/14. The screen shot below shows the problem, where a cpu is running at less than 50% of its true speed (to conserve energy and lower heat).
